Eve Apple and her husband Charlie drove from Arizona to pick up Daniela at the L.A. airport, an interesting experience, but one not to be repeated. The hours of paperwork to import the dog into the country take you not only from counter to counter, but from building to building to building, two miles apart, then back to the first building again. Meanwhile, there's the puppy, 40' behind an 8' chain link fence, waiting... waiting... while employees pass back and forth, avoiding eye contact with the people behind the fence, lest they should get roped into dealing directly with the public. Eve finally resorted to tears and - wouldn't you know it - she had her puppy within 20 minutes. It was slightly embarrassing to stoop to such measures, but it worked. Daniela slept soundly the ten hours back to Arizona. What had she been doing on the plane??? |

| Daniela is quite a character, always happy, always ready and eager for fun. She was born in Coruche, Portugal and lived there until she was about 11 weeks old. Breeder Maria Antonieta Rodrigues put her on a Lufthansa Airline flight to Germany where she stayed overnight in the Lufthansa kennels. She ate a good meal, played with the employees, (I want that job!) had a good night's sleep and another good meal, then she was put on a plane to Los Angeles, California, USA. |
